How to keep on doing your unloved job?
After working for years, I have come to a point whereby doing a job that you love is not easy.
This is because in the first place, I don't really know what I like to do.
"Oh then what did you choose to study in university back then?"
Hmm, honestly speaking, since I don't want to look for finances yet at that time, I just obeyed whatever my mum and dad ask me to pursue. The choice was simple back then: Information Technology (IT) or Accounting. I chose the latter because well...it sounds simpler and the only thing I love about using my computer back then is to play games. Not programming the games.
Did I fall in love with accounting in those three undergraduate years? No. Not really. I did not hate it thanks goodness. But I don't love it either. The only thing that I love about it is the fact that there were only two presentations that I needed to make during my whole three years studying accounting in England. Lovely!
"Okay, but now, you have found the job that you'd like doing right? And people says accounting graduates do make a lot of money."
Amazingly, I am still the same person few years after graduating. I haven't developed any passion toward certain field and hence, I simply chose those career with "reasonable" salary. The "reasonable" salary does not come easy though because it demands a lot of your time (and hence, your life) wasted working overtime.
At this rate, I think my dream job will be those which allow me to earn a comfortable amount of money without burning my life away. Hmm sounds like a dream? I agree. But to make it realistic enough, let's just say I dream of having passive income. LOL. #cansomeonebuymeahouse
"Great, you've found a dream. But now...how to endure life while trying to make your dream come true?"
Sadly to say, there are no quick-fix remedies. You just have to enforce your own work-life balance so that you won't die too early from overworked before you can reach your dream. You just need to remember that the bills will not pay by itself. You just have to maintain your relationship with some (or a few, in my case) friends who you can share your burden with. And, your family too, of course. And most importantly, you just have to rely on God. Because life is just too heavy to endure without His grace.
