Halal Cafe in Telok Ayer, Royz et Vous Specialty Cafe
It is not that easy to find a halal restaurant in Singapore, although it's relatively easier if you compare the situation to other countries like Taiwan or Hong Kong. Sometimes the biggest challenge is you are not sure if the restaurant is using pork-free ingredients in the preparation of the meals even let's say it is a vegetarian restaurant or seafood restaurant. If you are having this difficulty when you want to eat in Telok Ayer area, look no more than Royz et Vous Specialty Cafe.
Royz et Vous Specialty Cafe is one of those rare halal cafes located in Telok Ayer. When I visited the cafe for the first cafe, I actually did not know that the cafe is halal because well, the food on the menu looks pretty good up to the point I forget about that fact. Anyway, we ordered the sandwiches because they seem to be appropriate for Sunday brunch. Mine is the turkey ham croissant, which is served with a side greens and potato salad.
While my friend ordered Phil & Louis Sandwich which is served on a Turkish ciabatta bread and chips + salad at the side.
Both sandwiches look oh-so-awesome on the wooden plate. I added a glass of iced cranberry tea to spice things up a bit.
We ended our brunch on a sweet note by ordering a slice of Thai milk tea cake. The cake is a bit too sweet (after all it's infused by Thai milk tea) but other than that, we pretty much enjoyed it.
How to go to Royz et Vous:
1. Go take the train to the nearest MRT station, Telok Ayer
2. Take the exit which does not go toward PwC Building
3. Walk straight for 5 minutes and you will see the cafe at your left side (opposite the temple)
