Five Ideas to Spend Christmas Alone

Santa Claus turns out to be a genius in introvert-ism. LOL.

Over my undergraduate years in university, I have spent my Christmas alone because it was simply too expensive to go home. Sometimes all the hype about spending Christmas with the loved ones, with the families, with friends make us, the singles, feel lonely. But, hey, Christmas may be in the air but it should be in our heart too. If we can feel happy and comfortable with ourselves, there is no reason for Christmas to be so lonely and depressing. It's just take a bit of preparation for that upcoming 24th and 25th December. Let's go shopping for ourselves! Yeah!

1. Buy a lot of Christmas festive goodies

Those pretty cookies in a tin, chocolates, and oh-my-gawd, log cakes? Christmas is not the time for a diet. In fact, I can feel my clothes have already getting tighter on the 4th day of December. Well, to defend myself, the Christmas cookies goodies will only be available once in a year which means if you like certain cookies, you must wait for a whole year to eat it again. A whole freaking year! #justified

2. Stock your movies ammunition

I don't really watch Christmas movies when I am alone because they tend to make me lonely. Bad choice of movies for the holiday seriously. I am not into horror too though. Hahaha. Stocking a series of US TV-series like Game of Thrones, Gotham of Flash should keep my holiday busy without all the sappiness feeling, I suppose?

3. Burn that festive calories

The good thing about Christmas day in Singapore is the gym is open! Call me crazy but I don't mind spending a good two hours at the gym on a Christmas day. After all, that calorie will not burn on itself. And hey, I can start my New Year resolution earlier. #kiasu

4. Write, write, write

If you have passion in writing (ahem, your neglected blog), well, it is the time to pick up that fire in your writing again while you have the time. And please, please, please do not work on a Christmas day. It should be declared as the heaviest sin on earth. LOL.

5. Pick up on your sleep

That midnight oils that you burn few days before the holiday? The dark circles below your eyes? Now is the time to sleep as much as you want to. You want to be in your best performance on the 26th for Boxing Day shopping. Woot!

I guess the list is not exhaustive and you can create your own to-do-list on Christmas day without feeling in despair. Wishing you all happy preparation days toward Christmas! #21daystoChristmas
