What to expect from Robot Kitty event at Suntec (Part 1)
School holiday has finally started and it is the time for parents to think of activities or holidays for their kids. If you have booked your flight outside Singapore, well, good for you I suppose. If you decided to stay in Singapore, no worries because apparently the city is pretty much happening in June. One of the main attraction for kids is the Robot Kitty event happening in Suntec from 11 June to 21 June. If you are still considering of whether to bring your kids here or not, I guess I can share a few things since I happened to visit the same event in Taipei three years ago (aww, how nostalgic!). Let's be a Robot Kitty engineer, people!
1. Go get your ticket
Tickets are priced at $28 for adults and $14 for children age 3 to 11/ senior citizens. The ticket is super duper cute and it is a must to keep as Hello Kitty fans. <3
2. Wait for your turn at Sanrio Robotics Institute
Due to the crowd, the staff manning the event did a crowd-control by limiting a number of visitors allowed inside Sanrio Robotics Institute (SRI). You may need to wait for a while here to wait for your turn to enter SRI. You are allowed to take picture with the metallic robot Kitty while waiting so use this chance. Otherwise, you can check out the cute regulation posted on the wall.
3. Welcome to the Institute
Each visitor will be given a pass (a Hello Kitty one of course!) in addition to the ticket. Please wear the pass at all times inside the perimeter. Hahaha okay, there is noone telling you that but I just feel like saying that to make me feel like I am recruited by SRI for real. #lifegoal
4. Learn the manual
As I don't have engineering or mechanical background, I have to learn the rope first before I can build Robot Kitty, right? We need to get this fast as the book looks pretty thick.
5. Office tour (or Institute tour?)
Just like every new joiner in real corporate life, we need to learn the map and see where each section in SRI is located. You won't get lost though because you have to go through each section in order to build Robot Kitty. But make sure you don't let your kids run loose as they may get lost inside SRI.
