Top 5 Places to Eat Waffles in Singapore
Waffles are so yummy and it is really Happy Soloist's kind of breakfast, if only she can afford having waffles everyday. Really. Luckily for people like Happy Soloist, there are quite a number of cafes serving waffles in Singapore.
1. Symmetry Cafe at Jalan Kubor
Symmetry Cafe is well-known for its fabulous and yummy signature waffle which happened to be named only "waffle". Symmetry Cafe does not take reservation so if you need to come earlier or wait for a while until you receive a text from the cafe when your seat is ready. I waited for nearly 30 minutes for my seat. But it was worth it.
2. De'Pop Culture Cafe at North Bridge Road
Another waffle place, De'Pop Culture Cafe is spotted around Bugis area. My friend ordered the caramel walnut waffle. The texture of the waffle is not as fantastic as the one served by Symmetry Cafe, but the walnut is a great addition the waffle. If you are not too hungry, you can order the waffle at De'Pop Culture Cafe as it is smaller in size compared to the waffle served at Symmetry Cafe.
3. Spruce at Tanglin Road
If you prefer to have savoury waffle, you may want to have this Egg Benedict from Spruce. This is because it is served on waffle instead of the usual bun. I love Egg Benedict so this dish receives two thumbs up from me. #biasedtoeggben
4. Froth Cafe at Middle Road
The cafe is quite special as it is located at the basement of a hotel, and hence, is kinda hidden from outside. The unique twist about this waffle is that it is served with taro cream and earl grey ice cream. Even the roll has taro filling. The taro cream can be a bit too much after a few bites though.
5. Stateland at Bali Lane
The third cafe which is located at Bugis area as well. Should I declare Bugis as waffle land? Hahaha. Stateland serves another unique creation of waffle, it's red in color! Well, that explains the name, Red Velvet Waffle. As you can see, the waffle is drenched in cream cheese sauce. This one is definitely for sharing unless you are a cream cheese lover.
