The Three Irritating Things of Living at Someone Else's House

In Singapore, the price of a property is forever as high as the sky above. This even higher when you are (1) single and (2) not a citizen. And best is, both (1) and (2) is applicable to me. Argh! For people like me, the only option to survive in Singapore is by renting a room and either you live with your landlord or you live with another tenants. Great. Say bye bye to your privacy. After having done this for the past 8 years, I have listed the three irritating things of living at someone else's house.

1. House Rules (which does not make life easier, sometimes)

I realise the importance of rules. After all, I don't want someone staying in my house to live like a pig. But some rules when you are living in someone else's house in Singapore can be considered quite strict. The most common ones are no usage of air-conditioner during the day and no cooking allowed. The first is tougher for me because Singapore is freaking hot and humid. Staying in my room with a fan does not make me feel cooler in most days. But as I don't have enough money to buy my own place, I suppose I still have to endure this kind of lifestyle. U_U.

2. Shared bathroom/ toilet

Gross shit in the toilet bowl. Wet bathroom floor with dirty footprints.

Disgusting. But what can you do when the bathroom/ toilet is used by your landlord's guest or the other tenants? Cursing deep inside, scolding them (albeit useless), and start flushing/ close eyes on the whole thing. I seriously feel like killing people when all these shits happen in the bathroom/ toilet.

3. Unwanted guests

Sunday night. Monday is looming over the horizon and you just want to relax at home. And your landlord/ housemate is inviting a lot of people into the house to have party or whatsoever. #fml

I don't really like crowded place and having a crowd coming over to my house is just unbearable. Most of the times, I run out from house and only come back when they are all gone. Those pests.

When am I gonna be able to get my own place? *sigh*
